Grace Adesina, wife of the President of African Development Bank (AfD), Akinwumi Adesina, has been appointed the President of the World Hunger Fighters Foundation.

The foundation recently launched Borlaug-Adesina Fellows at the World Food Prize in Iowa, US.

Mr Adesina, a former Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, in a tweet early Monday said he was proud of his wife.

“I am so proud of my darling wife, Grace (Yemisi), as she becomes the President of the World Hunger Fighters Foundation. We were delighted to launch the Borlaug-Adesina Fellows at the World Food Prize in Des Moines, Iowa, USA. Go honey!” he wrote.

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo was also at the event where Adesina spoke with over 250 high school students of Global Youth Institute of the World Food Prize.

Adesina and wife celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary in July.
