Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, has denied rumours of ill health.

The governor’s senior special assistant on media and publicity, Oyewamide Ojo, in a statement on Friday, said the governor was hale and hearty.

Mr Ojo said Akeredolu was at the Governors’ Lodge, Asokoro, Abuja, on Thursday.

“He was also present in Abuja on Thursday at the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with an organisation based in Germany.

“The Secretary to the State Government (SSG) signed the MoU, but the governor was there and he spoke with the SSG.

“Pictures of the event will soon be made available. He is in Abuja,” he said.

Ondo commissioner for information, Donald Ojogo, had on October 17 also debunked allegations of the governor’s ill health.

Akeredolu has not been seen in Ondo since he returned from his annual leave on October 4.

Ojogo, however, said the governor has been in Abuja “to attend to many issues, including political meetings”.

Director of Media and Publicity, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ondo Chapter, Zadok Akintoye, had raised speculations over Akeredolu’s health after wishing the governor quick recovery.
