Ajimobi assures on payment of outstanding workers salaries

AjimobiOyo State Governor Senator Abiola Ajimobi has reiterated the decision of his administration to effect the payment of all outstanding workers salary this week.

The Governor stated this during an unscheduled inspection visit to some of the ministries and departments at the Agodi Secretariat, Ibadan.

He said that the banks being used by the state government have confirmed the receipts of the bailout fund from the Central Bank, stressing that the payment would be effected this week.

He also used the opportunity to inform the civil servants that the present administration would not reduce workers in the state but would effect realignment and reposting of workers for effective performance.

At the State Ministry of Education where Directors and Deputy Directors were holding weekly management meetings, Ajimobi charged them to brace up for new challenges in the education sector and improve on the standard of education in the state.

The Governor was conducted round the offices by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of education, Mrs. Aderonke Makanjuola, who assured him of the readiness of the ministry to do everything possible to improve on the standard of education in the state.

The Governor also inspected the office of the Surveyor General where he charged the staff to redouble effort on their productivity and improve on Internally Generated Revenue for the state.

At the State Ministry of Lands and survey, Governor Ajimobi tasked most of the officials on duty to define their roles and responsibility and suggest ways to improve on the revenue of the Government.

While addressing the press after the exercise Governor Ajimobi said the inspection was a normal routine to familiarise with the civil servants to gear them up to improve on their performances.
