Governorship candidate of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for Lagos State during March 9 election, Jimi Agbaje, has denied leaving the party.
Mr Agbaje’s spokesman, Felix Oboagwina, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday that rumours on social media about Agbaje leaving PDP for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) were untrue.
Mr Oboagwina described the reports as fake news, saying they were figments of the author’s imaginations.
He said that Agbaje was still a member of PDP and that there was no way he could have joined APC on social media.
“There is nothing like that, nothing like that at all. He is still in PDP; he has not defected.
“How can people say he has defected on social media? He is too big for that; he is in PDP,” Oboagwina said.
Since losing the 2019 governorship election to Babajide Sanwo-Olu of APC, Agbaje has had to severally deny leaving PDP.
