AFCON qualifier: Gernot Rohr names strong squad for Seychelles

Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr, appears not to be taking the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier with Seychelles for granted after naming a strong squad.

With skipper Mikel Obi and Victor Moses missing, Ogenyi Onazi will lead the 23-man delegate.

He is joined by England-based Kelechi Iheanacho, Wilfred Heidi, Alex Iwobi, Ogenekharo Etebo and Leon Balogun.

There are also spots for Saudi Arabia new poster boy, Ahmed Musa, Leganes’ Kenneth Omeruo, William Troost-Ekong as well as Odion Ighalo.

Everton youngster, Henry Onyekuru, who missed the World Cup due to injury returns.

So did Ola Aina who was dropped in the last minute.

Five newbies could potentially make their debuts.

They include Samuel Kalu, Jamiu Collins and Semiu Ajayi.

The Super Eagles will travel to Victoria on Matchday 2 of the series on Friday, 7th September.

Rohr’s lads must pick victory after losing their first game to South Africa.
