Abimbola Ogunbanjo’s funeral plans announced

A law firm Chris Ogunbanjo and Co. has announced the funeral plans for the late Abimbola Ogunbanjo.

Ogunbanjo, a former group chairman of the Nigerian Exchange Group, died in a helicopter crash alongside banker Herbert Wigwe and others on February 9 in the United States.

Ogunbanjo was a managing partner at Chris Ogunbanjo and Co., a law firm established by his father.

According to a statement by the firm on Thursday, a service of songs and night of tributes will be held on February 29 followed by a funeral service on March 1 at Church of the Nativity, Parkview, Ikoyi, Lagos. Private interment will follow at The Anchorage, Erunwon.

The firm said the bereaved family requested privacy at this difficult time so they could mourn their loss.

“He (Ogunbanjo) was more than just a leader; he was a guiding light, a mentor and a symbol of legal excellence,” said the firm.

“His absence leaves a significant void not only within our firm but also across the legal and business communities in Nigeria.”

Ogunbanjo was on the boards of several multinational companies including Beta Glass Plc.
