Ladun Ogunbanjo, daughter of the group chairman of the Nigerian Exchange Group (NGX) Abimbola Ogunbanjo, on Friday expressed grieve over the death of her father.

Ogunbanjo died in a helicopter crash on February 9 four months after his 99-year-old father Chris Ogunbanjo died.

In her farewell address at the funeral service which was held at St. John’s Anglican Church, Ikoyi, Ladun said her father was a central part of their lives as a family, adding that he guided them through challenges with admirable strength and confidence.

According to her, her father taught her so much not just by words, but by his way of life through frugality, discipline and ambition. She prayed that God grant him eternal rest.

“He was my go-to person whenever I needed someone to help me cross-check my writings. Who will I go to now to know if these words match up to your expectations?

“Who will I run to when I need advice? These little things that I took for granted are now things that I wish I savoured and cherished.

“Your legacies aren’t just in what you achieved, but in the countless memories and strength you instilled in our family. You mean so much to us all and I miss you deeply Daddy,” she said.

Ogunbanjo’s son Timi appreciated Ogun State governor, Lagos State governor, the NGX, capital market, the Shippers Council, NBA, friends, associates, and others for their love and support to the Ogunbanjo family.

He noted that the task before him was one that his father, who usually anticipated things and actions never prepared him for, but he was confident of his ability and grace to navigate through it.

Igbobi College Old Boys Association paid their last respect to Ogunbanjo at the funeral service, while his corpse was moved to Ijebu in Ogun State for interment.
