Abdulmumin Jibrin enjoys swing after losing election, says he needs rest

Nigerian House of Representatives Member Abdulmumin Jibrin

Former member of the House of Representatives, Abdulmumin Jibrin, says he needs to rest and enjoy serenity after being on the ‘fast lane’ for 15 years.

Jibrin, a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), lost last Saturday’s rerun election in Kiru/ Bebeji federal constituency of Kano State to the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Aliyu Datti.

The former federal lawmaker tweeted on Tuesday to say he needed to reflect on the past and prepare for the future.

“Day after the storm…time to take a deep breath, rest and enjoy serenity after 15 years on the fast lane..opportunity to look back, reflect, take stock and prepare for the future #EyeOnTheBall,” he said.

Jibrin had said on Sunday on Twitter that he did not lose the election but that his “mandate was stolen through the use of brutal force.”

He, however, said he had congratulated the winner of the election and would not file a petition in court.
