The Kaduna State Government led by Nasir El-Rufai has imposed a dusk-to-dawn curfew on the troubled Kajuru local government area.
This was contained in a statement on Wednesday by El-Rufai’s spokesperson, Samuel Aruwan.
Mr Aruwan said the curfew would be from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. daily until further notice.
This comes after 16 persons were killed on Monday by unknown gunmen at Barde village, Maro, Kajuru LGA.
The government directed security agencies to ensure strict compliance of the curfew.
El-Rufai appealed to residents in the affected areas to bear with his administration the inconveniences the curfew might have caused, urging them to cooperate with the security agencies on the directive.
