The transfer window is well underway, with English Premier League clubs jostling to strengthen their squads ahead of the 2017/18 season which kicks off in August.

That said, here are the top five deals thus far in terms of transfer fee.

  1. Tiemoue Bakayoko – Monaco to Chelsea: £40m

Signed from Monaco’s Ligue 1 winning side, Tiemoue Bakayoko chose to line up alongside compatriot, N’Golo Kante, in a fearsome looking midfield at Chelsea.

  1. Bernardo Silva – Monaco to Man City: £43m

Another signing from Monaco, Portugal international, Bernardo Silva, caught the eye of Pep Guardiola, who snapped him up in June before any other major club had done business.

  1. Alexandre Lacazette – Lyon to Arsenal: £46.5m

He almost moved to Atletico Madrid but due to their transfer ban, Alexandre Lacazette arrived at Arsenal from Lyon instead.

  1. Kyle Walker – Tottenham to Man City: £45m

Manchester City had been on the lookout for full-backs and made Tottenham’s right-back, Kyle Walker, the joint-most expensive defender in history for a fee that will reach £50m with add-ons.

  1. Romelu Lukaku – Everton to Manchester United: £75m

Romelu Lukaku was linked with a move back to Chelsea but chose Manchester United instead and is now a teammate of his friend, Paul Pogba. Reports suggest the final price with add-ons could be a new world-record of £90m. Wayne Rooney went the other way in a separate deal.
