4 amazing ways Iheanacho is better than Aguero

Manchester City forward, Sergio Aguero, is undoubtedly one of the world’s most deadly strikers.

The Argentine has notched an incredible 112 goals in just 162 games since his move from Atletico Madrid in 2011.

Aguero has netted 10 times in the Premier League and an extra six in the Champions League this season alone.

But the 28-year-old has proven to be one of City’s most indiscipline players with three yellow cards aside being suspended twice this season.

In his absence, Nigeria youngster, Kelechi Iheanacho, has led the line superbly and is likely to get a shot with the Argentine suspended for four games.

Many City fans may fear for the club following his latest suspension but, remarkably, the club have fared better with Iheanacho starting.

Here are four reasons why.

  1. Goal ratio

Iheanacho boasts the best minutes-per-goal ratio in the Premier League since the start of last season. The 20-year-old has struck 11 times in just 1050 minutes averaging one goal in a little above 90 minutes. Whereas Aguero has managed to achieve same in 10 minutes more.

  1. Win percentage

It is also worthy of note that City have won more games with Iheanacho starting than they’ve managed with Aguero. The Citizens have actually averaged more points and more goals scored in the 12 Premier League games he has missed compared to the 40 he has started.

  1. Team’s possession

Aguero is always the focal point of his team’s attack each time he plays – meaning the team is forced to play every single ball to him. However, stats show Pep Guardiola’s lads have averaged more possession without the Argentine. The Citizens have had a better hold of the ball with Iheanacho playing (60.7%) than with Aguero (58.7%).

  1. Shot accuracy

When it comes to shot accuracy, Iheanacho is probably the best in all of the Premier League. The Nigerian’s 11 strikes have come from just 16 shots on target. What this means is that the youngster is almost certain to score from any single attempt he makes at goal.
