The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced 35 new cases of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in the country.

The agency said on Thursday night that the country’s confirmed COVID-19 cases now stands at 442.

“Thirty-five new cases of #COVID19 have been reported as follows: 19 in Lagos, 9 in FCT, 5 in Kano, 2 in Oyo,” it tweeted.

“As of 10:20 pm 16th April there are 442 confirmed cases of #COVID19 reported in Nigeria. 152 have been discharged with 13 deaths.”

The NCDC recommends treatment of every confirmed COVID-19 case in an isolation centre to mitigate the risk of spread in communities.
