3 Nigerians detained for entering India without documents

Police in India have detained three Nigerian nationals from Assam’s Karimganj district for allegedly entering the country without any valid documents.

The Nigerians have been identified as Nnamdi Nwali, Prince Paul and Eze Collins.

During questioning, police said they claimed they entered India from Bangladesh via Tripura.

The Nigerians were taken to Bazaricherra police station after they failed to produce their passports and valid documents, police said.

Officials said a case has been registered against them under relevant sections of the Foreigners Act, 1946 read with Section 6 of the Passport (Entry into India) Rules, 1950, The Hindu reports.
