2019: Ezekwesili begs to fund campaign against Buhari

Oby Ezekwesili

In a bid to effectively dislodge incumbent Muhammadu Buhari, presidential candidate of the Allied Congress Party of Nigeria (ACPN) Oby Ezekwesili has resorted to a crowd-funding campaign to raise the necessary finances.

A former vice president of the World Bank, Ezekwesili also co-founded Transparency International, one of the world’s leading organizations against corruption.

But she is perhaps most well-known for her vocal work in turning the world’s attention to Boko Haram’s Islamic extremist insurgency and its abduction of more than 200 schoolgirls from the community of Chibok in 2014 through the Bring Back Our Girls campaign.

Ezekwesili claims she “comes with hope” and the interest of the citizenry is paramount.

As she’s purportedly unable to compete with the might of Buhari and Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) Atiku Abubakar, the renowned accountant has taken to crowd-fund to achieve her dreams.

An ardent social media user, Ezekwesili took to Twitter to make the plea on Thursday.
