2 men in court over alleged trespass, mischief

The Police on Tuesday arraigned two men- Sani Ahmed, 34, and Saidu Abdullahi, 35, in a Mararaba Upper Area Court, Nasarawa State, over alleged trespass and mischief.

The defendants who reside at New Nyanya, Karu, Nasarawa State, are facing a two-count charge of trespass and mischief.

The prosecutor, Cpl. Hamen Donald, had told the court that one Ene Daniel of Royal Dream Hotel, Mararaba, reported the matter at `A’ Police Division, Mararaba on January 23, around 5:30 p.m.

Donald said that th5:30 p.m.inant alleged that the defendants conspired and trespassed into her building site, obstructed the workers and damaged some of her building materials worth N60, 000.

According to him, the offences contravened Sections 97 and 327 of the Penal Code.

The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty.

The judge, Ibrahim Shekarau, granted the defendants bail in the sum of N50, 000 each, with one surety each in like sum and adjourned the case until February 21, for hearing.
