Private jets, politicians take over Minna for Babangida’s daughter’s wedding

No fewer than 26 private jets and four police and air force aircrafts landed in Minna, Niger State on Friday for the wedding of former President Ibrahim Babangida’s daughter, Halima.

The aircraft brought the various dignitaries that attended the event while the police provided air surveillance and security.

Former President Goodluck Jonathan, and his wife, Patience led the galaxy of big political and military figures that graced the occasion.

Former Head of State, General Abdulsalami Abubakar; Senate President Bukola Saraki; House of Representatives Speaker Yakubu Dogara; former Vice President Namadi Sambo; Governors Nasir el-Rufai (Kaduna); Abubakar Bello (Niger); Abdulaziz Yari (Zamfara); Abdullahi Ganduje (Kano); Aminu Tambuwal (Sokoto); Abdulfatah Ahmed (Kwara); and former First Ladies Turai Yar’Adua and Justice Fati Abubakar, were also present.

So were All Progressives Congress (APC) National leader, Bola Tinubu, Peoples Democratic Party factional Chairman, Ahmed Makarfi; former Secretaries to the Government of the Federation, Senator Pius Anyim Pius, and Ahmed Yayale; President, Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote, and many others.

Alhaji Auwal Abdullahi, the businessman who married Halima Babangida, paid a symbolic bride price of N500,000 and 10 cows to the bride’s father.

Gen. Garba Wushishi performed the symbolic ceremony of handing over the bride at 2.45pm
