Actress Bimpe Akintunde has expressed deep sorrow over the death of actress and model Monalisa Stephen.
Qed.ng reported on Wednesday that the Chief Executive Officer of Best of Nollywood (BON), Seun Oloketuyi, broke the news on Instagram.
According to him, Monalisa died on Tuesday, in Lagos after battling low blood sugar and internal bleeding. He added that her immediate younger sister confirmed the sad news to him.
Reacting to the tragic development, Bimpe Akintunde took to Instagram to mourn Monalisa and questioned why the late actress did not reach out to her during her health struggles.
“Monaaaaaa, you go at least call or message me when you were going through all of that naaaaaa, haaaaaahaaaaaaaa Eleyi ba mi lojiji. Sebi me n you dey talk naaaa? I pray your sweet soul find eternal Rest Aburo mi daada,” she wrote.
The film star also extended her condolences to Monalisa’s family, saying, “My condolences to @iamolasamuel and Family, A o ni ri iru e mo lola oluwa oba. Goodnight, Monalisa Stephen.”
In 2022, Monalisa Stephen publicly disclosed that she had been living with diabetes since childhood.
The plus-size advocate also revealed she was recuperating at the time and trying to stay positive despite constant body-shaming and hurtful comments from online trolls.
