The family of a 26-year-old banker, Osemudiamen Idemudia, has raised alarm over his mysterious disappearance while returning home from work in Lagos.
Osemudiamen, who works in the Point-of-Sale (POS) unit of a commercial bank, was last seen on the evening of Friday, May 9, according to his father, Julius Idemudia.
The distraught father explained that his son had left his office in Ikota alongside a colleague for a scheduled meeting with a senior staff member at the bank’s headquarters in CMS, Lagos Island.
However, upon their arrival, the meeting was cancelled.
“After they got to CMS and parted ways, Osemudiamen was supposed to take a bus to Iyana Ipaja and then proceed to Igando, where he lives. But he never arrived home. When it got late and we hadn’t heard from him, we began to worry. After 24 hours, we raised the alarm,” the father said.
The family has since reported the case to the Igando police station, which is near the Akesan area, where Osemudiamen resides.
Idemudia also disclosed that efforts are underway to meet with the bank’s chief security officer to assist in the investigation.
“This is completely out of character for him. We are extremely worried and just want to know that he is safe. Our hearts are heavy,” the father added.
