Nightlife personality Idowu Adeyemi, popularly known as Yhemolee, has reacted to the ongoing online feud between singer Wizkid and Afrobeat musician Seun Kuti.

The dispute began after Seun criticised Wizkid’s fans for comparing the singer to his late father, Afrobeat pioneer Fela Anikulapo-Kuti. Seun described such comparisons as disrespectful to Fela’s legacy and influence.

Wizkid later responded on social media on Tuesday with a series of posts directed at Seun, escalating the exchange and drawing widespread reactions online.

Amid the backlash, Yhemolee shared his view on Snapchat, faulting Seun for engaging Wizkid’s fan base and allowing the situation to spiral. He wrote:

“No be only you be Fela piken!! Only you won face FC? How? Wetin you chop?? Rage baited wiz till e burst out!! And everybody know sey the man mouth worst! Fela died 29yrs ago!! Who dem born that same year self would be 30yrs next year. But you are fighting teenagers and Gen Z’s that know absolutely nothing about him.. Make it make sense.”

Yhemolee suggested that Seun should have ignored the online provocation rather than confronting fans who did not experience Fela’s era.

The feud has continued to spark debate on social media, with some users backing Seun’s stance on preserving his father’s legacy, while others believe the argument was unnecessary.

Seun’s sister, Motunrayo Kuti, also weighed in, criticising how Fela’s name is often used in online arguments and insisting that his legacy deserves respect.

As of the time of reporting, neither Wizkid nor Seun Kuti has indicated any intention to deescalate the public exchange.
