Former Vice President Yemi Osinbajo’s wife, Dolapo Osinbajo, has paid tributes to her late cousin Segun Awolowo, grandson of the late statesman Obafemi Awolowo.

In an Instagram collaboration post shared with her husband on Wednesday, Mrs Osinbajo posted a compilation video featuring moments from her childhood with Awolowo as well as pictures from family events over the years.

In the caption, she wrote, “Segun!!! Forever loved. 1963 – 2025.”

Dolapo Osinbajo is the granddaughter of Obafemi Awolowo, making her and Segun Awolowo first cousins.

Through her marriage, the former vice president became Segun Awolowo’s brother-in-law.

Awolowo died recently at age 62.

Awolowo was a lawyer and served as executive director of the Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC) from 2013 to 2021, during which he worked on advancing Nigeria’s non-oil export sector.

He was elected president of the National Trade Promotion Organizations representing ECOWAS member states in 2021.

Born on September 27, 1963, he arrived two months after the death of his father, Segun Awolowo Sr., who died in a car accident at age 25.

He is survived by his wife, children and grandchildren.
