EFCC Chairman, Ibrahim Magu

The anti-graft agency is working with foreign agencies like the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in the US in its clampdown on internet fraudsters.

Mr Magu told journalists at the agency’s Lagos office in Ikoyi at the ongoing EFCC stakeholders conference on crusade against cybercrime fraudsters that such parents always justify their children’s activities with the arguments that they were supporting their families in the place of irresponsible, runaway or dead fathers.

Magu said the EFCC’s interest was not just to arrest the ‘Yahoo’ boys but also to see to their rehabilitation.

The EFCC (Lagos Office) said it made 300 cybercrime-related arrests since January and had secured 200 convictions.
