Emuwa is number 25 on the list of 25 most powerful women in journalism in Nigeria released in May by the Women in Journalism Africa (WIJA).

She has been chairperson of the Punch Newspapers, which was founded by her late father, Olu Aboderin, since June 2018.

Her appointment followed the death of her older brother, Wale Aboderin.
