Market leaders in Osogbo and Olorunda Local Government Areas of Osun, on Friday, pledged their support for the second term bid of Gov. Ademola Adeleke of Osun.
The market leaders, under the aegis of the Association of Babalojas and Iyalojas, pledged at their gathering in Osogbo.
They said that the endorsement of the governor for a second term was premised on the delivery of good governance, especially due to road construction and rehabilitation across the state.
Mr Adeoti Qamarudeen, the Babaloja of Orisunbare Main Market, Osogbo, said the endorsement of the governor by the association was also in support of his economic development programmes in the state.
“Since assuming office, Adeleke has demonstrated visionary leadership and an unrelenting commitment to the economic development of the state, particularly in the area of trade and commerce, which is the heart of our association’s interests.
Under his administration, several key road infrastructure projects have been initiated and completed, directly benefiting market accessibility, local transportation and commercial activities.
“As we approach the 2026 governorship election, we wholeheartedly endorse Adeleke for a second term”, he said.
Qamarudeen also expressed confidence that the continued leadership of Adeleke would elevate Osun to greater heights in development, unity and prosperity.
He, thereafter, called on all traders, shop owners, market men and women across the state to stand united and support the governor’s re-election.
He described the governor as a leader who has consistently demonstrated his commitment to grassroots development and the welfare of our people.
Responding, the special adviser to the governor on Market Affairs, Mrs Grace Omotosho, appreciated members of the association for the endorsement, saying, “It is accepted by the governor”.
