Why Peter Obi cannot be president of Nigeria — Mbaka

Father Ejike Mbaka

Enugu-based Catholic priest Rev. Fr Ejike Mbaka says former Anambra State governor Peter Obi cannot be Nigeria’s president because he is a stingy person.

Mbaka, who is the spiritual director of Adoration Ministry in Enugu, spoke on Wednesday at the ministry’s gathering.

Obi is contesting the presidency on the platform of Labour Party after resigning from the Peoples Democratic Party whose presidential candidate is former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.

“It is better to have a president who is a gifted old man than a stingy young man,” the cleric said.

Mbaka further alleged that Obi is a man without a generous spirit, adding that “a stingy man would not be accepted as Nigeria’s leader.”

The Catholic priest claimed he helped Obi become governor of Anambra State but Obi insulted the Holy Spirit by not returning to give thanks.

“Who doesn’t spend his money eating what you want to support? Do you want people to starve? If he becomes president, he will close our ministry,” he said.

“If Igbo people are looking for a representative in Nigeria, they are not the kind of person Peter Obi is. Whoever refuses to donate to the church should be the president?”
