Actor Deyemi Okanlawon has announced that he will no longer work as an actor for other filmmakers because he wants to start producing his own movies.

The Eleshin Oba star said this at the recently held Filmone end-of-the-year exhibitors showcase in Lagos.

Deyemi said he has decided to focus on filmmaking after 10 years of being an actor and would only act be featured in his self-produced films.

“I want to use this opportunity to announce that after 10 years as an actor for hire in Nollywood, I’ll be hanging that boot and I’ll be focusing now on producing the work that I’m featuring in,” he said.

The Yoruba movie star also announced his 2024 romcom All is Fair in Love.

Deyemi was named the grossing actor in 2in 2021 and 2022, according to the list compiled by the Nigerian Box Office.

He has been featured in movies such as Blood Sister, Sista, The Wait, Love in a Pandemic, The Wildflower, Jolly Roger, Omo Ghetto: The Saga, Swallow and Prophetess.
