Former Kaduna Central lawmaker Shehu Sani has clarified why his name was not included on the recent ambassadorial list submitted to the Senate, saying he is too young for the position and remains focused on serving the people of Kaduna State.
Speaking in an interview on Arise Television on Wednesday, Mr Sani said he was never contacted or considered for an ambassadorial appointment.
“My name has never been on the list for an ambassadorial position. I read about it months ago,” he said.
Drawing on his experience as former vice-chairman of the Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs, Sani explained that ambassadorial appointments involve a structured process, including calls, CV submission, security screening and vetting.
“None of these procedures ever took place with my name. So my name was never among them,” he added.
On his future plans, Sani said he remains committed to contributing to Kaduna State.
“I think I’m too young to be an ambassador. I still have a lot to deliver to my people in Kaduna State,” he stated.
The remarks come days after President Bola Tinubu released the latest list of career and non-career ambassadorial nominees, which did not include Shehu Sani’s name.
