Veteran singer Innocent Idibia popularly known as 2baba has questioned why an Idoma man cannot be governor of Benue State.
The Benue singer asked the question in an Instagram story on Monday.
He wrote: “Abeg, I want to know which law is there that says an idoma man can’t be governor of Benue. It’s becoming ridiculous. #2babarandomthoughts.”
Nigerians took to Instagram to react to the singer’s statement.
“Online president lol! No go benue state,” George wrote.
“You guys say democracy is the perfect system of government for us. Why are you questioning the modus operandi of the system? Contest and win. It’s never given but won,” Shadrach wrote.
“What stops u from becoming d Governor of ur state?” Joyce asked.
“There’s no law that says an Idoma man cannot be governor of Benue state, go out and secure votes across the divides,” Ike Ugwueze wrote.
“North Central and tribalism 5&6. Tiv rule in Benue. Igala rule in Kogi. Nupe in Niger. Yoruba in Kwara. Jukum in Taraba and so on,” Ade wrote.
