obinna nsoforThat is the question on the lips of many football fans who are interested in the career of the former Plateau United, Kwara United and Enyimba player.

Currently a free agent after seeing out his four-year contract with Russian side, Locomotiv Moscow, the player claims to have rejected moves to UAE and the MLS because he has an “unfinished business” in Italy despite not playing a single game in his final season in Russia.

At just 28, the Nigeria winger-cum-attacker has had a nomadic career across Europe top leagues.

Nsofor played in the Italian Serie A with Chievo, Verona and Inter Milan; Spanish La liga with Malaga; Russia with Locomotiv Moscow and had a loan spell in the English Premier League at West Ham.

Although, he has never been a prolific goal scorer, Nsofor thrills the audience with his pace and long range shooting ability. He celebrates by doing a cartwheel-to-2 hand aided backflips-to-backflip somersault.

No wonder after his exploits against Udinese in 2008, then Inter Milan boss, Jose Mourinho, said “He brings intensity into the game”, in a team that had world class attackers in Hernan Crespo, Adriano, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Mario Balotelli.

Nsofor began his football sojourn with local sides Plateau United and Kwara United before joining Chievo in 2005 on a five-year contract.

He starred for Nigeria at the 2006 Nations Cup in Egypt, coming into the tournament as a rookie and was part of the squad that won silver at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, China.
