Wearing cheap clothes doesn’t mean you’re poor – Gentle Jack

Nollywood actor, Gentle Jack, has stated that wearing cheap clothes is not necessarily a sign of poverty.

The 49-year-old said this on Instagram on Tuesday.

“Wearing unbranded and cheap clothes doesn’t mean you are poor. Remember you have a family to feed and not a community to impress…,“ he wrote.

In an interview with the Punch Newspapers published in September 2018, the star who is popularly known as Vuga, slammed Nollywood producers for hiring cheap actors.

He said, “Moving to Port Harcourt has not affected my acting career. If you are looking for me, you can always call me. But most times, producers find it hard to pay me; so, they look for cheaper options. One thing they don’t understand is that no one can be like Gentle Jack. I thank God I made my mark in the early years of Nollywood…“
