Super Eagles captain, Mikel Obi, has declared the team’s readiness to get their World Cup campaign started in Russia.

The three-time African champions will play their opening game against Croatia on Saturday.

On the eve of the big game, Mikel, who will captain a Nigeria team for the second time to a major tournament after the 2016 Rio Olympic Games, posted a picture of some of the players on social media.

“Love these boys! Ready to get our #WorldCup started tomorrow,” he wrote in a Twitter post.

The 2018 FIFA World Cup will be Mikel’s second appearance at the tournament having missed out on the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. He was in Brazil four years ago.

Nigeria will face Croatia in their opening Group D game on Saturday evening in Kaliningrad before taking on Iceland in their second game in Volvograd.

Their final group game is against Argentina in Saint Petersburg.
