The United States successfully evacuated 385 Americans from Nigeria on Monday via the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos over the coronavirus pandemic.
The Americans departed around 4:25 pm in an Ethiopian Airlines Boeing 777-300 aircraft enroute Washington DC.
The US embassy had had difficulty evacuating its citizens a few days ago after some countries, including Ghana, refused to grant approval for the use of their air space.
There are now 232 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Nigeria, according to data by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).
