#UFC259: Israel Adesanya fights Jan Blachowicz to make history

UFC champ Israel Adesanya

UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya will be looking to become a two-division champion when he challenges light heavyweight champion Jan Blachowicz in the main event on Saturday night in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States.

At 38, the Pole is bigger, more experienced and older than Adesanya, 31, who holds an unbeaten 20-0 record. Blachowicz has lost just once in his last nine fights.

If Adesanya aka Stylebender is able to defeat Blachowicz, he’ll join Conor McGregor, Daniel Cormier, Amanda Nunes and Henry Cejudo as one of just five fighters in UFC history to hold titles in two divisions simultaneously.

Getting set for his big night, the Nigerian shared a post on social media. “The best artist always wins,” he captioned it.

The UFC 259 will become just the seventh UFC event to feature three title fights, but also the first ever to feature four champions across three fights on a single card.

The other title bouts pit Amanda Nunes, the best women’s fighter in UFC, against Megan Anderson and Petr Yan, the bantamweight champion, against Aljamain Sterling.
