Music executive Ubi Franklin has dismissed widespread rumours alleging he was involved in a physical altercation with nightlife entrepreneur and socialite, Cubana Chief Priest.
Reports began circulating online on Friday claiming the pair engaged in a heated confrontation that escalated into a fistfight at the prestigious Transcorp Hilton Hotel in Abuja.
According to an eyewitness quoted by several blogs, the alleged altercation attracted a large crowd and involved what were described as “heavy blows not meant for the faint-hearted.”
The confrontation was said to have occurred during a high-profile event at the hotel, drawing the attention of many guests and quickly spreading on social media.
Investigative journalist and blogger Stella Dimoko-Korkus also reported the incident, stating that the clash was both intense and physical. She added that the disagreement stemmed from Cubana Chief Priest’s displeasure over Ubi Franklin’s close association with music superstar Davido. The socialite reportedly found the relationship unsettling, which allegedly led to the confrontation.
Adding another layer to the drama, some insiders claimed that Ubi Franklin’s desire to secure an invitation to Davido and Chioma’s upcoming white wedding in Miami may have further strained his relationship with Chief Priest. The wedding, one of the most anticipated celebrity events of the year, is expected to draw a star-studded guest list.
Reacting to the allegations, Ubi Franklin took to his Instagram Story—though the post has since been deleted—to debunk the story and question the credibility of those spreading it.
“Anyone who believes this story, especially the narrative on Instablog written by a blogger in an attempt for relevance, is a f**l lol,” he wrote.
As of the time of filing this report, Cubana Chief Priest has yet to comment publicly on the alleged incident.
