Twitter has unfrozen the account of the co-founder of Bring Back Our Girls (BBOG) movement, Aisha Yesufu.

The BBOG co-founder’s Twitter account was earlier suspended with a notification that read temporary restriction.

However, in an email on Thursday to Yesufu, Twitter apologised for the suspension explaining that its systems erroneously flagged Aisha’s account as spam.

“This can happen if an account exhibits automated behaviour in violation of our rules,” Twitter said.

The relieved Yesufu tweeted afterwards: “Thank you everyone for your voices. I have gotten a mail from @Twitter and I am back. I will continue to be a voice. My voice is not for myself alone but for so many others who unfortunately did not get that education that so many of us take for granted to have a voice. THANK YOU.”

Yesufu has been very vocal in her criticism of President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration and his handling of the kidnap of Chibok girls and others who are still in Boko Haram captivity.

Nigerians had attributed the temporary closure of her account to the Federal Government.

Personal assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari, Bashir Ahmad, also claimed that Yesufu violated Twitter rules  hence the suspension of her account.
