A trailer loaded with cartons of beer on Monday killed a motorcyclist along Semusemu-Olokun-Agbaluku-Arigidi road in Ondo state.

Reports say that two men were on the motorcycle when it rammed into the trailer, killing one of them instantly.

The other person involved in the accident has, however, been put on a danger list at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC)Owo where he was transferred from Ikare Akoko State Specialist Hospital, Ikare-Akoko.

The truck, with registration number EPE 304XR, was said to be making a U-turn while the motorcyclist was in top speed until he lost control and rammed into the trailer.

The incident occurred on the same spot where timber lorry claimed four lives recently.

The Unit Commander of Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Ikare-Akoko, Jimoh Basiru, confirmed the incident, attributing it to night driving and recklessness of the motorcyclist.

He advocated the use of helmets to prevent head injury in case of accident.
