WATCH: Timi Dakolo releases ’70s inspired ‘Iyawo Mi’ music video

Timi DakoloNigerian soul musician, Timi Dakolo, has teamed up with awarding-winning director, Clarence Peter, to deliver the official video for his hit song ‘Iyawo Mi’ off his upcoming Album Love and Consequences.

The 1970s inspired video was shot in Ogun State with a vintage Mercedes car, time appropriate costumes, makeup and other props.

It shows the journey of a newlywed couple; played by Timi Dakolo and his wife, Busola through good and difficult times.

“I’m really proud of this video,” says Timi Dakolo. “I have always wanted to do a vintage video that was fun and features my wife.

“‘Iyawo Mi’ was inspired by her so it was just right that she played a part in it. We had an awesome time.”

Born on born on January 20, 1981, Timi hails from Bayelsa State, but grew up in the city of Port-Harcourt, where he started his singing career at age of 12, singing in his church choir.

Following his win as West African Idol first and only winner; he released his debut album titled Beautiful Noise in 2012, receiving great reviews for the work as well as chart successes.
