Nigeria Police policemen

Police in Ondo have arrested three persons over the alleged killing of a naval officer identified as Akingbohunmi in Idoani community, Ose Local Council Area.

The officer was reportedly attacked on Monday by some hoodlums during an argument with a commercial motorcyclist.

Akingbohunmi was confirmed dead at a hospital after the attack.

It was gathered that some members of the Nigerian Navy consequently stormed the community to find the killers.

Community leaders, on their part, visited the Naval School in Imeri (where the deceased was attached) and promised the school authorities that all the suspects would be produced within 24 hours.

Spokesperson of Ondo Police Command Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya said on Wednesday that three persons were arrested over the alleged murder.

She added that three other suspects involved in the matter are still at large.

“Following the swift intervention of our men, three of the suspects were arrested. Three other suspects involved in the killing of the naval officer are currently on the run.

“But, I can assure you that they too will be arrested and made to answer to the crime,” Odunlami-Omisanya said.
