Stand-up comedian, Alibaba, has knocked gullible Nigerians who follow fake social media accounts in spite of obvious signs that they are not authentic.
The 52-year-old said in an Instagram post on Thursday that some people will open a fake account in a celebrity’s name and many will follow without bothering to make the proper verification.
He illustrated it with an account opened in his name with a profile image of singer, Davido, and girlfriend, Chioma.
“The Nigerian gullibility is on a high. Someone will open a fake account and people will just follow. No checks. That’s just disheartening. Even when the person being impersonated is popular. And you can see that the person has an active account. Kilode? Is that Buhari too” he wrote.
The comedian recently took to Instagram to vent his anger and frustration at the Nigerian government and how they ruined the country’s tourism sector with their “oil share syndrome and politics.”
“With all the resources, land, water, people, natural privileges, it’s a huge shame not to be on this list! Thanks to crude oil and stupid leaders! Allshare syndrome of the oil share has killed our economy and development in all sectors,” he wrote.
