Magistrate Binta Rijau, however, declined to take the plea of the accused person on grounds that her court lacked jurisdiction to hear the matter.

Rijau directed the police to forward a duplicate copy of the case file to the State Director of Public Prosecution for legal advice.

She adjourned the matter until Nov. 26 for further mention.

Earlier, the Police Prosecutor, Insp. Thomas Peter had told the court that the complainant, Michael Usman of Shango area, Minna, reported the matter on October 10.
