Leader of the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN) Pastor Evelyn Joshua has denied prophesying over the general election in 2023.

In a video posted to Facebook on Monday night, June 20, the church discredited a tweet alleging that Evelyn, the widow of SCOAN founder Prophet TB Joshua, prophesied victory for an unnamed candidate in the forthcoming polls.

The church said, “Our attention has been drawn to various social media posts falsely claiming that Pastor Evelyn Joshua has prophesied victory for a certain candidate in the 2023 Nigerian general election. Please disregard the tweet, as no such prophecy was given by Pastor Evelyn Joshua.”

SCOAN further reminded the public that authentic messages from the church are only given on Emmanuel TV, the church’s cable TV channel, and via its social media handles.

There are multiple fake accounts on social media operating in the name of Evelyn, SCOAN and the late Joshua.

Evelyn, like her late husband, is rarely seen in the company of politicians.

In 2020, Joshua was reported to have said that former governor of Abia State Senator Orji Kalu would be the next president of Nigeria.

But the clergyman debunked the reports, saying he has been on his Prayer Mountain for days and could not have made the statement.

“Please be informed that the story circulating titled ‘Orji Kalu is Nigeria’s Next President, says TB Joshua’ is NOT from TB Joshua.

“TB Joshua is not around, he is at the Prayer Mountain in a rural area for the past five days,” the cleric tweeted.
