Police in Imo on Monday paraded the alleged killer of Ahmed Gulak, former aide of ex-President Goodluck Jonathan.

Gulak was in May 2021 shot dead in Imo State along Ngor Okpala Airport Road, Owerri. He was on his way to Sam Mbakwe International Cargo Airport.

The suspect Anosike Chimaobi told reporters that some politicians, whose names he did not mention, were behind some crimes in the state.

“Sometimes the politicians will come and meet our commander, Ebube Uche Madu aka virus, but our leader will drive us away each they come to discuss with him,” he said.

Imo police commissioner Mohammed Barde paraded the suspect at the Command Headquarters, Owerri with those who reportedly bombed the residence of the President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, Prof. George Obiozor.

Barde said the suspects confessed to being members of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and Eastern Security Network (ESN).

Gulak, a former chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), joined the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2018.

In the same year, the Adamawa-born politician chaired the APC governorship primary committee in Imo.
