Super Eagles rookie, Samuel Chukwueze, hits goal number two for Villarreal

Super Eagles new kid on the block, Samuel Chukwueze, scored his second La Liga goal this season for his club Villarreal Sunday night in their 2-1 win against Real Betis at the Estadio de la Ceramica.

Chukwueze notched the Yellow Submarine’s second goal in the 52nd minute as he fired a low shot to the bottom left corner after a receiving a back-heeled pass by Santi Cazorla.
Gerrard Moreno had put the host ahead two minutes earlier with a thumping header from a corner.

Chukwueze had two first-half clear-cut chances to put his team ahead albeit he failed to score on both occasions.

First, the former Golden Eaglets star who was in Nigeria’s squad to the 2015 FIFA U-17 winning team and adjudged the third best player in Chile at the cadet tournament saw his low shot smothered.

The Nigerian saw his second attempt miss target by whiskers after brilliantly controlling the ball with his chest.

The win ended Villarreal’s seven matches winless run in the league. It takes his team to the 16th spot with 14 points from 13 games.
