Sunshine Rosman in tears over rising insecurity, poverty

Sunshine Rosman

Actress Sunshine Rosman has expressed concern over the state of the country, speaking about insecurity and economic hardship in an emotional video shared online.

Sunshine posted the video on her Instagram story on Sunday, where she appeared in tears while reacting to what she described as worsening conditions across Nigeria.

In the video, she questioned what she sees as silence and inaction despite the challenges facing citizens.

She pointed to issues such as poverty, poor infrastructure and the displacement of communities due to insecurity. She also highlighted the situation in parts of Northern Nigeria, where recurring attacks have forced residents to leave their homes in search of safety.

According to her, the continued loss of lives and the response to it raise concerns about the country’s direction.

She said, “When are we going to wake up as Nigerians? When is it finally going to be enough? Like, is it… We can’t even begin to talk about the economy right now, the poverty rates. We can’t begin to talk about the lack of infrastructure in this country. That’s not bad enough. In a sense, people and Christians in the North are constantly being slaughtered. Lives are being lost for nothing. But people have to migrate. from their towns, from their homes, from their villages, because they know that nothing will be done. I swear it’s not normal. I swear to God this is not normal….”

Her comments add to ongoing public reactions to insecurity and economic pressure in the country. In recent months, concerns have grown over rising cost of living, inflation and continued attacks in some regions, particularly in the North where banditry and communal violence have displaced many communities.

Public figures, including actors and musicians, have increasingly used social media to speak on national issues, calling for improved security and better living conditions for citizens.
