A member of the House of Representatives Akin Alabi has accused the ministry of sports and youth development and minister Sunday Dare of bottling what he described as lack of organisation on Tuesday at Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja.

Nigeria played host to Ghana in the stadium for a ticket to the FIFA World Cup in Qatar later this year. The Super Eagles crashed out on away goal rule after the game ended 1-1.

Alabi described what he saw at the stadium as “disgraceful”.

“I’ve seen my team lose many times and I accept it as part of the game. I was at the stadium today and the organization shocked me more than the result,” the NairaBet founder tweeted on Tuesday night.

“The entire sports ministry, starting from Mr Sunday Dare absolutely bottled it. Disgraceful.”

Angry fans had invaded the pitch after Nigeria’s loss to Ghana, destroying facilities in the stadium.
