Student raped in nightclub toilet while celebrating A-level results

Rape

Police in an affluent town in England are investigating after a teenager celebrating the release of her A-level results was reportedly raped in nightclub toilets at a Pokémon party.

The 18-year-old was at a Pokémon Hunt Party when the alleged attack took place in the early hours of Friday morning.

Sixth-form pupils flocked to a themed night billed by organisers as a chance to “capture some of the 600 Pokémon figures hidden around the venue, some of them with special prizes.”

Teenagers from the local grammar schools and comprehensives posed for selfies with a giant plush Pikachu who was at the packed event, which was held at MooMoo nightclub in Tunbridge Wells, Kent.

The sex attack is said to have taken place in the toilets, between 1.30am and 2.30am.

Police have seized CCTV footage of the three-floor club, which were billed as a PokéGym, a Pokémon Centre, and the Leaf Forest, are scouring it for clues about what happened.

The suspect is described as a white male with brown hair wearing dark jeans and a short sleeved T-shirt.

A spokesman for Kent Police said: “Police are appealing for information after receiving a report of rape that occurred at Moo Moos nightclub in Newton Road, Tunbridge Wells between 1.30am and 2.30am on Friday, August 19, 2016.

“It is said that the incident occurred in the toilets of the club. The 18-year-old female victim describes the suspect as being a white male with brown hair wearing dark jeans and a short sleeve T-shirt.

“Officers have seized CCTV from the night-club and enquiries are on-going.”

The spokesman refused to say whether the suspect was also a teenager, or an older man.
