Veteran actor Pete Edochie has urged Nigerians to stop circulating out “nonsense” narrative about the late Junior Pope on social media.

The movie star made the appeal in a recent video on his Instagram account in which stated that Junior Pope was a gift to the entire world.

“My son Junior Pope, was a gift to the entire world. A splendid life was cut short the way we never expected. Yes, we shall all go some day but certainly not in this manner. I want to make a general appeal, let us pray to the Almighty God to accept the soul of Junior Pope and cut out all the nonsense we have been putting out in the social media.

“Let us allow this young man’s soul to rest. I am making an appeal as a father, please. And I want to seize this opportunity to thank all those who have volunteered to ensure that his children will not suffer, particularly E-Money who has promised that he’s is going to train all those boys to whatever level they want to get to,” Pete Edochie said.

Junior Pope was confirmed dead on the night of April 10 after several attempts to resuscitate him failed. The actor alongside make-up artist Abigail Frederick, and the production crew; Friday, Olanti and Precious drowned in Anam River on their way back from the set of Another Side of Life, a movie produced by Adanma Luke.

When his obituary was released, many speculated that the actor was having marital issues due to the notably absence of the ‘husband’ title on the obituary poster.
