Convener of the #RevolutionNow movement, Omoyele Sowore, has met his bail conditions, his lawyer, Femi Falana, said on Wednesday.

Justice Taiwo Taiwo of a Federal High Court in Abuja had on Tuesday ordered that Mr Sowore should be released from the custody of the Department of State Service (DSS) immediately and handed over to Mr Falana who is to produce him for arraignment whenever he is required.

The judge also ruled that Sowore should deposit his passport and other travel documents to guarantee his availability for trial.

Mr Falana, however, told Punchng.com on Wednesday that he was at the DSS headquarters to receive Sowore.

A lawyer from Falana’s law firm, Marshal Abubakar, had filed an “affidavit of compliance with court order” before the court as confirmation that Sowore’s documents had been submitted to the deputy chief registrar of the court.

“In line with the court order we respectfully forward with the instant correspondence, the international passport of Mr. Stephen Omoyele Sowore with passport number A50255207 to your good self,” Mr Abubakar wrote to the deputy chief registrar.

Sowore, who is also the publisher of Sahara Reporters, has been in DSS custody since August 2 over his call for revolution protest scheduled to hold on September 5.

The Federal Government has filed charges of treason and money laundering against him.
