Publisher of Sahara Reporters, Omoyele Sowore, has spearheaded congratulatory messages on social media for his lawyer and human rights activist, Femi Falana, on his 62nd birthday.

Mr Falana was born in Lagos on May 20, 1958. He contested and lost the governorship election of Ekiti State in 2007 on the platform of the National Conscience Party, a party he served as national chairman in 2011.

Mr Sowore, in a post across social media platforms on Wednesday, thanked Falana for his work which has lasted several years.

He wrote: “Help me wish our inimitable Femi Falana, SAN Happy Birthday! Thanks so much for your work that have spanned several years and so many generations, making it impossible for the unthinkable periods of darkness in our nation to persist. May you live very long!”

Former chairman of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), Prof Chidi Odinkalu, also thanked the popular lawyer for his work.

“He left the seminary from where he’d have bn consecrated to serve in the #TempleOfTheLord to the Law School, from where he got consecrated to the #TempleOfTheLaw,” Odinkalu wrote.

“Today, Patrick Obafemi Falana Senior Advocate, turns 62. Thank u, Egbon FF, for all u do for us, the people.”
