Soludo’s aide reacts to reports son endorsed Peter Obi

Ozonna Soludo

Ozonna Soludo, son of Anambra State Governor Charles Soludo, did not distance himself from his father’s comments as insinuated on social media, the governor’s press secretary has said.

In the wake of Soludo’s public criticism of the presidential candidate of the Labour Party Peter Obi, some blogs claimed that Ozonna said he was not an “extension” of his father.

The blogs claimed he said, “I would appreciate not being dragged into this. I am not an extension of anybody, I have my own opinions and have always said I think Peter Obi is the best candidate. All this has nothing to do with me.”

However, Prof Soludo’s press secretary Christian Aburime told PUNCH on Thursday that the reports on the governor’s son were false.

He said, “The governor’s son, Ozonna, did not disown what the father said. The trending article purportedly claiming that the son disowned what his father said did not emanate from Soludo’s son; it is simply the handiwork of mischief makers in order to blackmail the governor.”

Mr Aburime also described as falsehood the reports that gunmen threatened Soludo.

The press secretary said Soludo does not regret what he wrote in the article titled ‘History beckons and I will not be silent’.
