Singer, Oluwafemi Oladapo, popularly known as Slimcase, has apologised for making a joke about the death of Tina Ezekwe, the 17-year-old who was on Tuesday killed by a trigger-happy policeman in Lagos.

The 34-year-old shared his apology on Instagram on Sunday.

“Just seeing this #Justice for Tina All blacks lives matters so sad sorry. Once again so sorry Nigerians I’m so sorry about this, I just got to read the #tina story and I’m so sad right now , my comment earlier was a misinterpretation and I sincerely apologize. I’m a father to a beautiful girl , So I know how painful this must be for Tina Parent. Tina is for all of us. We want #Justice for Tina,” he wrote.

The ‘Pongilah’ singer had earlier sparked outrage with his comment which appeared to imply that he would rather concentrate on the death of American, George Floyd, another unfortunate victim of police brutality in the United States.

Two policemen identified as Theophilus Otobo, an assistant superintendent of police and Oguntoba Olamigoke, a police inspector attached to Bariga Police Station, have been arrested in connection with Ezekwe’s death.
